CB Journal #27: Getting Ready to Kick It Into High Gear

Friday, August 27, 2010 20:44

My ClickBank stats are still a mess, although I finally got a reply from ClickBank at least acknowledging a problem and saying they would have it sorted out soon:

“Our Analytics page is currently being updated, and so you may experience some reporting issues. You should be able to see all of your stats and will be able to use the Analytics page by tomorrow. This has not affected the HopLink tracking, only the summary analytics.Your sales and Hops are still being tracked and will be available for viewing as soon as the system is updated.”

So, hopefully starting tomorrow I will have some accurate numbers to report from CB. Looking at my StatCounter numbers, however, I’m getting a steady trickle of visitors each day and more long tail searches. Yesterday I had ten visitors and 31 page loads. Some of the more interesting long tails that people are using to find my site via Google in the past few days include:

- master cleanse lemonade diet journal
- my master cleanse
- cleanse withdrawal

oh, and my favorite:

- michelle Master Cleanse Journal :)

Anyway, I’m getting ready to kick my backlinking efforts into high gear. Over the weekend I’m going to prepare an Unique Article Wizard submission to start going out at a rate of 30 a day over the next month, backlinking my main page and one of my keyword posts.

Also, I’m going to send out twenty posts early next week via Blog Blueprint, which I’m guessing will give me a nice boost. If it doesn’t, I’ll do it again the following week.

And, I’m going to start doing some profile linking using Sick Submitter as well. I’ll be starting those out pretty small, maybe building 10 links a day for the first month or so.

Should be exciting to see what happens with these efforts. I’ll probably see some dancing at first, but overall I’m expecting upward movement … but I guess we will all see, right?

Hey Michelle, I see everything is coming along for you.. Good work.. Even though I haven’t been commenting as I suppose to, lol.. I still read each post of yours everytime you post.. I have been busy trying to get everything worked out with my websites. I am focusing on my primary one and I decided to write 400-500 word posts to see where that takes me. I already have everything planned as far as posts.. I have at least 13 titles lined up for the posts. I just need help with widgets and permalinks. It was so much easier with blogger.

Hey Jennifer! Glad to hear you are getting your own sites in order. Although I know you are doing well with hubs and blogspot as well, I strongly believe that you want to ultimately have control over your own sites and content and I’m glad you are figuring out the process! Feel free to email me questions about widgets and permalinks, but just as a quick answer for the permalink structure, I set it so that it will display just the titles – you can do this be clicking “custom” where it says permalinks (under settings) and then putting /%postname%/ into the field. WIdgets are pretty easy to learn too – just shoot me an email with specific questions you might have.

I think 15–20 posts is a good number of posts for a new blog, so it sounds like you are on the right track there. 400-500 words is also a good wordcount to aim for as well. After you get those up, you’ll need to start building backlinks to your site and specific posts of course. I’m very excited to see how it goes for you! :)

Thanks Michelle for the tips on permalinks, I have been trying to figure this out by searching it out but no luck.. Widgets are coming along slowly for me, but next week I should have it packed down. I do want to start backlinking as well for my primary site and I will work on that next week when I have at least 10 or 15 posts. Thanks a lot Michelle..

    Michelle,

I just signed up for aweber through your affiliate link. I was planning on signing up for about 8 months now and thought, “you know what, today is the day.” I wanted to give you the commission. Hopefully it showed up for you. If not let me know and I’ll crack the whip on em. ;)

Thanks Justin – just got the notice (my first Aweber sale! :) . Yeah, you definitely need to build lists to improve conversions. I really have difficulty with them myself though. :(

Michelle, did you ever say how much weight you lost on the cleanse (if you don’t mind me asking). While I have enjoyed the CB project I seem to be even more interested in your actual cleansing results :)

Hi Carrie – I lost almost 10 pounds total, but have since gained back around four of them. Still, pretty happy with the 6 pounds lost! :) I actually posted a one week update recently on the journal here: http://mastercleansejournal.com/after-the-master-cleanse-one-week-later/

You’ll definitely gain some of the wait back once you have solids in your body, so that’s to be expected. But you’ll also lose some weight and more importantly, break free of a lot of addictions. For me coffee was the worst – I’m glad I’m free of it now! :)
