July Earnings Report
Sunday, August 1, 2010 14:17This month was pretty exciting on two accounts! To start, here is my goal for July (as posted in my June Earnings Report) and my actual earnings for the month:
Goal for July: $900
Actual July Earnings: $1,048.93!
As you can see, I both surpassed what I was aiming to earn for the month and broke the $1,000 barrier for the first time!
And if that wasn’t exciting enough, yesterday I earned over $100 for the first time ever as well! I had four ClickBank sales totaling $89.94 plus I earned another $11.18 from AdSense, meaning I earned $101.12 for the day! Since my overall goal is to be earning $100 a day consistently by the end of the year, it was great to see that it is indeed possible. Hopefully in six months time, I will be earning over $100 every day.
Here is the breakdown of my earnings for July by program:
AdSense: $324.01
ClickBank: $687.64
Amazon: $31.72
Other $5.56
Total Earned: $1,048.93
As you can see, ClickBank was my strongest performer by far. I had 34 sales and two refunds for the month, meaning I am now averaging better than one sale a day. If you are a regular reader of my blog, you will know that I have only been doing ClickBank for seven or eight months, but it is now easily doubling what I am earning from AdSense even though I have been doing AdSense for almost twice as long.
Now, this may be a result of poor keyword research and promotion for my AdSense sites, but still, I do think ClickBank is really worth pursuing if you are into affiliate marketing. If you are interested in learning more about setting up a ClickBank site, I encourage you to follow my Clickbank Project Journal that I’m starting today which will walk through all the steps I take for setting up and promoting a ClickBank site over the next month. And as a bonus, you’ll get to see if I can use a ClickBank product to help me survive the Master Cleanse program as well!
Here is a shot, by the way, of the last couple of weeks for my ClickBank account:

However, AdSense was back up again as well. I experience a drop in my daily average last month – going from earning $10.44 a day in May to only $8.44 a day in June. However, in July my daily average is back up to $10.45 a day. Also, Amazon earnings are increasing steadily and I’m really looking forward to the holiday season!
One of the main reasons my income surged this month is because several sites moved way up in their SERP rankings. Here are some examples of certain keywords I’m targeting:
Keyword #1: Position in Google 7/3/10 = 89; Number of Links (YSE) 7/3/10 = 91
Position in Google 8/1/10 = 24; Number of Links (YSE) 8/1/10 = 185
Keyword #5: Position in Google 7/3/10 = 332; Number of Links (YSE) 7/3/10 = 83
Position in Google 8/1/10 = 20; Number of Links (YSE) 8/1/10 = 116
Keyword #14: Position in Google 7/3/10 = 9; Number of Links (YSE) 7/3/10 = 320
Position in Google 8/1/10 = 3; Number of Links (YSE) 8/1/10 = 392
Keyword #49: Position in Google 7/3/10 = 16; Number of Links (YSE) 7/3/10= 115
Position in Google 8/1/10 = 4; Number of Links (YSE) 8/1/10 = 240
Keyword #124: Position in Google 7/3/10 = 57; Number of Links (YSE) 7/3/10 = 381
Position in Google 8/1/10 = 8; Number of Links (YSE) 8/1/10 = 437
Keyword #130: Position in Google 7/3/10 = 101; Number of Links (YSE) 7/3/10 = 96
Position in Google 8/1/10 = 51; Number of Links (YSE) 8/1/10 = 158
If you take a close look at these numbers, you will see that the number of links showing up in Yahoo Site Explorer has almost doubled for some of the sites. When I check them in YSE, I see that most of the increase is due to profile links that I have created using Sick Submitter. Now, I also used UAW last month as well, which is probably also contributing some to these increases, but those submissions aren’t really showing up yet in YSE. Furthermore, I have noticed that my sites tend to increase in ranking usually two to three days after I have done a profile link run, and not all of these sites had UAW submissions done for them – but all of them did have profile links added.
I might add that all of these sites also had a pretty good number of links coming to them before I started doing the profile linking, and that they are all over six months in age. This is important to keep in mind if you are considering using Sick Submitter or any profile packets on your websites, as newer sites with less link diversity will “dance” quite a bit and may even disappear altogether from the SERPs for a couple of week. For these sites, however, I didn’t really see any “dancing” – just upward movement.
In terms of my overall work productivity this month, well, I did not get the ten sites I was hoping to get built for the month. My goal was to build five Amazon sites, three ClickBank sites and two more AdSense sites. Instead, I only got three Amazon sites up. This means I have my work cut out for me in August – I’ll need to build 17 sites to get back on track. That seems like a lot, but I’m going to try to get a site built every other day for this month, which should do the trick. Of course, I may get distracted with the ClickBank project journal (or hunger) – but hopefully not!
Earnings Goal for August: Well, it was going to be to break the $1,000 barrier, but I guess I need to change that now! So I’m going to set my passive earnings goal to be $1,200 for the month of August.

Wow those are some massive numbers – congratulations! Adsense makes up the majority of my online income and I can only hope to come anywhere near how much you earn. Then again I am actually quite lazy and haven’t even got around to hosting my own sites but reports like this motivate me to do so!

Hi Michelle!
Very nice jump in income. When I see 100$ a week Clickbank stats, I’m always tempted to start my clickbank sites, really love these weekly deposits.
However, if I’d add CB to my projects, that would be tooo much…. We cannot earn all the money in the world ) As for your CB challenge, I’m in, I like case studies and challenges!

Thanks Grand. Yeah, I’m starting to really look forward to Wednesdays, which is when Clickbank makes their weekly deposit into my bank account! We all have limited time and energy, of course, and you do need to focus on what you feel is right for you. For example, I haven’t yet ventured into the world of CPA, although I see you do quite nicely with those offers!

Yes Michelle, this is just 1 offer to be frank so I’m now looking for more offers with the same popularity levels =) Clickbank is more sustainable than CPA since offer may die, but CB products tend to stay.. This is truly a passive income, maybe start finally doing CB sites as well? ))

Thanks Kidgas. It’s going to be a challenging month for sure, with my Clickbank journal project, the cleansing blog, doing the cleanse itself, and building 17 new sites – but I’m up for it!

Wow this was a great month for you Michelle. I have a long way before I will have a goal of $900 and with you overpassing your goal that means you are doing some major linking and receiving some good traffic from your keywords. You are doing well with Clickbank. I wanted to wait to get started with Clickbank, I wanted to focus on Amazon and Adsense. Good work Michelle, you are truly an inspiration..

Thanks Jennifer, your comments are really appreciated! I think it is good to get a handle on one system before you branch out with others. It’s so easy to get distracted and overwhelmed in this business. I’m started with AdSense and didn’t try ClickBank until months later. Although I wish I started a little sooner with CB because I’m finding it so profitable, I think it was good to learn the basics with AdSense first!
