Ruth - Thanks! Yeah, I should have mentioned web 2.0 sites and directories. I have used both in the past, although I am not doing either much right now. I do occasionally put up a hub or squidoo lens for a site that seem "stuck" in the rankings, and I do plan on doing more of this down the road. However, mainly I'm waiting until I can automate these web 2.0 sites. I think I hear JamestheJust yelling something about Magic Submitter over in the next state (LOL), but I'm probably going to wait until I can afford SE Nuke to help with this (my guess is that I'll take it out for a test drive sometime in August). In terms of directories, I used to use DirectoryBot by Icansoft, but I have honestly not seem much come from my directory submissions and I don't bother with them for right now.
Yolanda - I agree, having a system is key, and hopefully I can stick to it! In terms of blog commenting, I haven't done much of this although I know it can be useful. I certainly don't want to spam blogs with "Really like your site" kind of junk, but I do plan on getting scrapebox in a few weeks and will see if it can help me find some good do-follow blogs in niches I'm targeting. I'll probably stick to manual, and hopefully useful, blog commenting once I've got a good list and my time will be the main constraint in terms of what I do with this.
Carrie - I imagine you probably come home exhausted from work and that that has more to do with it that an ADD-IM disorder :). Anyway, hopefully my posts serve more to motivate than frustrate.
Barry - Glad you found the post of use.
Dan - Thanks as always for your kind comments.
On another note - I think summer has finally arrived to the Pacific Northwest. I had a wonderful day at the beach with my family today, and then came back home to two ClickBank sales made and over $10 in AdSense earnings (and the day isn't even over yet!) :)

I am trying hard to think what question to ask, but you spelled out your backlinking strategy so clear that I cannot come up with anything; thank you very much for sharing.Your plan seems very well structured; I especially like that you build the links slowly, over three months, mixing up different types of links and that you do not get sidetracked by a small Google dance.

Wow! That's an incredibly well laid out strategy and it seems pretty much foolproof. Thanks a lot for the info.

I was going to comment on how organized you are, but other beat me to it.

I started to draw up a backlinking plan but got distracted. When I worked a real J.O.B. I was usually quite organized but for some reason I seem to have ADD with IM. I keep being reminded of that when I read your posts.

Michelle,

Great breakdown of how you build links!

I think the key to actually getting the ball rolling on backlinking is to actually have a plan in place that you follow so that you don't get off track.

In addition to building these types of links, I see that you didn't mention anything about blog commenting or directory links? Have you ventured into these areas yet?

Great post yet again! You really are so organised like Des said! At the moment I'm only following a small part of your plan (a couple of EZA articles in the first month then UAW). I have yet to figure out what more I need to do. I had a VA for a couple of months and noticed the profile backlinks did really help but I haven't continued with it lately (though I bought the software to make it quicker so I'll be getting back to it soon). Like you said, I also agree that diversity is so important.

Have you ever experimented in the past with less profile links etc and more content on Web 2.0 sites, article directories and so on? I am testing this now though unfortunately my test got interrupted by other work.

Hi Des,

Thanks! I have been a little up and down regarding how much I like the LinkJuicer. Some people really love it, others hate it. You can read my previous full review of TheLinkJuicer here:
http://passiveincomeonlineblog.com/the-link-juicer-my-review/
Right now, I'm actually seeing a lot of the links created when I first subscribed to TLJ showing up in YSE and they seem to be sticking as well (a problem Sara at Noteworthy Tips had when she used the system - she said all the links dropped away quickly). I will be sticking with TLJ for at least a couple more months to see if my links from it stick, but even if they don't, I like how the slow velocity and diversity works for my new sites. Probably it's not for everyone, but I like using it for my sites at this point. Thanks for stopping by!

That's a very nicely structured backlinking system. I wish I was as well organized myself!

Interesting about Link Juicer, I've never used it myself. Do you find it good value for money?
